About Assam Gramin Bank in India
Assam Gramin Bank is a Regional Rural Bank (RRB) serving the entire state of Assam, India. As the sole RRB in Assam, it operates 473 branches across all 33 districts of the state. The bank is jointly owned by the Government of India (50%), Punjab National Bank (35%), and the Government of Assam (15%). Assam Gramin Bank functions under the Regional Rural Banks Act of 1976 with a mandate to provide banking services to rural areas, particularly to small and marginal farmers, agricultural laborers, artisans, and rural entrepreneurs.
