Belfius

Belfius is a Belgian state-owned banking and insurance group that serves all segments of the Belgian economy. As of 2023, it ranks as the third largest bank in Belgium with a 12.45% market share and total assets of approximately €161.65 billion.

The bank emerged from the dismantling of the Dexia Group following the 2011 financial crisis. Belfius serves more than 3.8 million customers across retail, SME, corporate, and public sector markets, making it the second largest retail bank-insurer in the country and the largest bank serving Belgium's public sector with nearly 100% penetration.
