OXUS Afghanistan

OXUS Afghanistan is a microfinance institution (MFI) operating in Afghanistan, providing financial services to underserved micro-entrepreneurs, small traders, and rural communities. Created in 2007 with funding from the Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), OXUS Afghanistan has established itself as one of the country's leading microfinance providers, ranking third in portfolio terms among Afghan MFIs. The institution focuses on delivering Sharia-compliant financial products to individuals and small businesses that lack access to traditional banking services.

OXUS Afghanistan was established building on the experience of ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development), particularly its micro-loan initiatives providing farmers with seeds and tools for sowing. The institution serves primarily small traders, shopkeepers, handicraft producers, and agricultural workers across multiple provinces.
