TISA Bank is Papua New Guinea's first fully homegrown commercial bank, evolved from the Teachers Savings and Loan Society Limited (TISA) established in 1972. Originally founded to serve Papua New Guinean educators, TISA Bank has grown into a comprehensive banking institution serving individuals, small businesses, and corporations across the country. The bank officially commenced commercial banking operations on October 21, 2024, after obtaining its banking license from the Bank of Papua New Guinea in August 2024.
