Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (BCI) is one of Mozambique's leading commercial banks and a pillar of the country's financial sector. As the largest bank in Mozambique by assets, deposits, and branch network, BCI serves over 1.5 million individual and corporate clients across the country.
The bank is majority-owned by Portuguese financial institutions, with Caixa Geral de Depósitos holding 51% through Caixa Participações and an additional 10.51% direct stake, while Banco BPI owns 35.67%. BCI is recognized as a systemic bank by the Bank of Mozambique, collectively representing approximately 70% of the country's banking market alongside Millennium bim and Standard Bank.
