New Kabul Bank is a state-owned commercial bank in Afghanistan and the largest banking institution in the country. Fully owned by the Ministry of Finance, the bank operates an extensive network of over 125 branches across all 34 provinces of Afghanistan. New Kabul Bank serves more than 1.2 million customers and plays a critical role in the nation's financial infrastructure, particularly in facilitating salary disbursements for government employees, military personnel, and security forces.
The bank emerged from the remnants of the original Kabul Bank after one of Afghanistan's most significant financial scandals.
