Kutxabank

Kutxabank is a Spanish credit institution headquartered in Bilbao, in the Basque Country. It was officially created on January 1, 2012, through the merger of three historic Basque savings banks: Bilbao Bizkaia Kutxa (BBK), Gipuzkoa Donostia Kutxa (Kutxa), and Caja Vital Kutxa (Vital). The bank is the eighth largest financial entity in Spain by assets, with approximately €66 billion in assets as of December 2024.

Kutxabank is designated as a Significant Institution under European Banking Supervision and is directly supervised by the European Central Bank (ECB) since late 2014. The bank has consistently ranked as one of Spain's most solvent financial institutions, with the European Banking Authority in December 2020 recognizing it as the most solvent bank in Spain and above the European average.
