About National Bank of Pakistan in Germany
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) is a Pakistani government-owned multinational commercial bank and a subsidiary of the State Bank of Pakistan. Headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, it is the country's second-largest commercial bank with over 1,500 branches across Pakistan as of December 2022. The bank was designated as a domestic systemically important bank (D-SIB) by the State Bank of Pakistan in 2020.
NBP operates an extensive international network with 21 overseas branches and multiple representative offices. The Frankfurt am Main branch operates as a non-EEA branch under German regulatory supervision by BaFin (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht).
