Esperanza Indígena Zapoteca

Esperanza Indígena Zapoteca is a Level I Sociedad Cooperativa de Ahorro y Préstamo (SOCAP) serving indigenous communities in Mexico. This savings and loan cooperative focuses on providing financial services to underserved populations in Oaxaca and surrounding regions. As an authorized SOCAP, it operates under the supervision of Mexico's Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNBV) and offers deposit insurance protection to its members.

The cooperative emerged from a grassroots movement to address the financial exclusion faced by indigenous Zapotec communities, particularly small-scale organic coffee producers who lacked access to traditional banking services.
