About Banco de Bogotá in Colombia
Banco de Bogotá is Colombia's oldest and one of its largest commercial banks, founded in 1870 as the first banking institution in the country. It is a full-service financial institution that operates through approximately 650 branches, five corporate service centers, and a comprehensive banking attention center throughout Colombia.
The bank is majority-owned by Grupo Aval, one of the largest and most influential financial holding companies in Colombia and Latin America. Banco de Bogotá has expanded significantly beyond Colombia, with international operations in Central America through its ownership of BAC Credomatic, as well as agencies in the United States and presence in Panama and the Bahamas.
