Fondo Nacional de Garantías (FNG)

Fondo Nacional de Garantías (FNG) is Colombia's national credit guarantee fund established to facilitate access to financing for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (Mipymes), independent workers, and households. Operating as a mixed-economy corporation of national order organized as a mercantile corporation, FNG provides credit guarantees that enable borrowers who lack sufficient collateral to access bank financing. The institution backs loans issued by financial intermediaries, reducing risk for lenders and democratizing access to credit across all economic sectors except primary agricultural production, which is covered by Finagro's guarantee fund.
