Founded by the Catholic Church to promote economic self-sufficiency, CODEC Ouagadougou has grown into a major financial institution with over 31,900 members as of December 2024. The cooperative ranks third in savings deposits (26.8 billion FCFA) and fifth in credit portfolio (23.58 billion FCFA) among 58 microfinance institutions in Burkina Faso, according to the 2023 AP/SFD-BF performance report.
