It is a non-profit, private financial institution with joint ownership among its members, dedicated to providing financial services in the southwestern region of the country. With over 58,000 members and total assets exceeding $95 million USD, CACIL serves rural and agricultural communities across some of Honduras' poorest departments. The cooperative is regulated by the Consejo Nacional Supervisor de Cooperativas (CONSUCOOP) and the Comisión Nacional de Bancos y Seguros (CNBS).
