About Otbasy Bank in Kazakhstan
Otbasy Bank is Kazakhstan's only specialized housing construction savings bank, implementing a unique housing construction savings (HCS) system based on the German Bausparkasse model. The bank is a socially important financial institution that helps Kazakhstani families achieve homeownership through a combination of savings deposits and affordable housing loans. With over 2.5 million savings accounts and approximately 3.2 trillion tenge in assets, Otbasy Bank serves about 26% of Kazakhstan's economically active population. The bank is wholly owned by National Managing Holding "Baiterek" JSC, a state development institution.
