Bihar Gramin Bank (BGB) is a Regional Rural Bank (RRB) in India that operates exclusively in the state of Bihar. Established on 1 May 2025 through the merger of Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank and Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank, it is the largest rural bank in Bihar by branch network and geographic coverage. The bank operates under the ownership of the Ministry of Finance (Government of India), Punjab National Bank as sponsor bank, and the State Government of Bihar in a 50:35:15 ratio respectively.
With 2,885 branches serving all 38 districts across Bihar, the bank focuses on rural and semi-urban banking, particularly serving small and marginal farmers, agricultural laborers, artisans, and small entrepreneurs. Bihar Gramin Bank functions under the Regional Rural Banks Act of 1976 and represents India's "One State, One RRB" policy aimed at streamlining rural banking operations.
