About Wüstenrot in Slovakia
Wüstenrot is a specialized building society (stavebná sporiteľňa) operating in Slovakia, part of the German-Austrian Wüstenrot financial group. Originally established as Stavebná sporiteľňa VÚB-Wüstenrot, a.s. in 1993, it became one of the first specialized banking institutions focusing on building savings in Central and Eastern Europe. The institution operates with a specific banking license dedicated to building savings products and housing finance.
In 2021, Wüstenrot underwent a strategic transformation, discontinuing new building savings contracts and transitioning to a comprehensive financial services model through its subsidiary Wüstenrot InHouse Broker, s.r.o.
