About Banca Etica in Italy

Banca Etica (officially Banca Popolare Etica) is Italy's first and only bank entirely dedicated to ethical finance. Founded in 1999 and based in Padova, it is a cooperative bank (Società Cooperativa per Azioni) that operates in Italy and Spain. As of April 2024, the bank has 48,334 members, share capital of €92.39 million, and direct deposits of approximately €2.49 billion. Banca Etica exclusively finances projects promoting peace, social welfare, environmental protection, international cooperation, and culture, explicitly refusing to fund sectors harmful to ecosystems and communities such as weapons, fossil fuels, and intensive farming.
