Question 2

When was BGFIBank Gabon founded?

Accepted Answer

The origins of BGFIBank Gabon trace back to 1971, when the institution was established as the Bank of Paris and the Netherlands Gabon. The bank underwent several transformations throughout its history. In 1996, when Gabonese private investors acquired majority shareholding, it was rebranded as the International Gabonese and French Bank (Banque Gabonaise et Française Internationale, or BGFI).

In 2000, the bank adopted its current name, BGFIBank S.A. In 2010, as part of a restructuring to reflect the group's internationalization, the parent entity became BGFI Holding Corporation, and the Gabonese banking operations were separated into BGFIBank Gabon as a distinct subsidiary.
