Bank Keshavarzi (Persian: بانکِ کشاورزی), also known as the Agricultural Bank of Iran or Agribank, is Iran's premier specialized agricultural financial institution and a major government-owned banking establishment. The bank serves as the primary financial backbone for Iran's agricultural sector, financing approximately 70% of the country's agricultural activities while also offering comprehensive retail and commercial banking services. With over 1,900 branches nationwide and approximately 16,000 employees, Bank Keshavarzi operates both as a specialized agricultural bank and a universal commercial bank serving diverse clientele across urban and rural areas.
As the only specialized financial institution dedicated to agriculture in Iran, the bank plays a critical role in national food security, rural development, and economic stability. Bank Keshavarzi is listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange and is overseen by a banking council comprising the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, and other key government ministries.
