Caixa Central - Caixa Central de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo, CRL is the central institution of the Crédito Agrícola cooperative banking group, Portugal's agricultural credit system. Founded as the financial head of the cooperative network, Caixa Central coordinates operations for approximately 75 local agricultural credit unions (Caixas de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo) throughout Portugal. As Portugal's 7th largest bank with €14.5 billion in assets and a 3.73% market share, it operates as a universal bank serving 1.6 million clients through 616 branches nationwide.
