Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), officially known as PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, is a state-owned Islamic bank and the largest Sharia-compliant financial institution in Indonesia. The bank was established on February 1, 2021, through a historic merger of three state-owned Islamic banks: PT Bank BRISyariah Tbk, PT Bank Syariah Mandiri, and PT Bank BNI Syariah.
As of 2024, BSI is Indonesia's sixth-largest bank by assets and the world's largest Islamic bank by customer numbers, serving over 19 million customers. The bank operates more than 1,500 outlets throughout Indonesia and maintains a presence in the Middle East through its Dubai branch.
