About Pro Mujer in Nicaragua

Pro Mujer is a registered microfinance institution (Institución de Microfinanzas) in Nicaragua that specializes in providing financial services, health programs, and capacity-building education primarily to low-income women. Operating as Pro Mujer Nicaragua, LLC (a Nicaraguan branch of Pro Mujer Nicaragua, LLC Delaware), the institution is regulated and supervised by the Comisión Nacional de Microfinanzas (CONAMI) since November 26, 2012.

The institution focuses on empowering underserved women in urban, peri-urban, and rural areas across Nicaragua. As of 2022, Pro Mujer Nicaragua served over 52,000 women through financial services and provided more than 60,000 health and wellness services, making it one of the country's most important social advocacy and microfinance institutions.
