SOGEMEF (Société Générale de Micro et Méso Finance)

SOGEMEF is Togo's first mesofinance institution, operating as a Société Anonyme (public limited company) under Togolese law. The institution specializes in providing financial services to small and medium-sized enterprises (PMEs), very small and medium-sized enterprises (TPMEs), small and medium-sized industries (PMIs), and very small and medium-sized industries (TPMIs) that often fall between traditional microfinance and conventional banking sectors.

SOGEMEF was established to address a critical gap in Togo's financial ecosystem, where small businesses historically struggled to access financing due to stringent requirements and limited outreach of traditional banks. As of 2023, the institution manages a portfolio of over 17,000 clients and employs more than 115 staff members across its network.
