About Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Jaén in Peru

Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Jaén is a savings and credit cooperative (COOPAC) operating in Peru. It is a closed cooperative that serves only its members, not the general public. The cooperative is regulated by the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) under Law No. 30822, which came into effect in January 2019, establishing a supervisory framework for COOPACs in Peru.

As a COOPAC, it operates based on cooperative principles where members pool their savings and provide credit to fellow members. The institution is incorporated in the Cooperative Deposit Insurance Fund (FSDC), which provides deposit coverage up to S/. 5,000 per member.
