About Cooperativa de Crédito das Mulheres de Pemba SCRL in Mozambique

Cooperativa de Crédito das Mulheres de Pemba SCRL (Women's Credit Cooperative of Pemba) is a women-focused microfinance institution operating in Pemba, the capital city of Cabo Delgado Province in northern Mozambique. Established to empower women economically and combat extreme poverty, this credit cooperative provides specialized financial services exclusively to women entrepreneurs and small business owners.

The institution was conceived in 2010 and became operational in 2013 after receiving authorization from Banco de Moçambique (Bank of Mozambique). The cooperative was supported by COCAMO (Cooperação Canadá-Moçambique), the Canada-Mozambique Cooperation program based in Nampula, which provided initial funding to launch operations.
