About Salaam Bank Uganda in Uganda

Salaam Bank Uganda is a commercial bank operating in Uganda and the country's first licensed Islamic banking institution. Originally founded as Top Finance Bank Limited, the bank was acquired by Salaam African Bank of Djibouti in August 2022 and rebranded to its current name. The bank received its Islamic commercial banking license from the Bank of Uganda on September 8, 2023, making history as the first institution authorized to offer Sharia-compliant banking services in Uganda.

As a subsidiary of the Djibouti-based Salaam African Bank, the institution operates according to Islamic Sharia principles while serving all Ugandans regardless of religious background.
