Afghanistan International Bank (AIB) is the largest commercial bank in Afghanistan, with its head office in Kabul. Founded in 2004 with support from the Asian Development Bank, AIB is the only Afghan bank offering international transfer services to all countries. The bank operates 37 branch offices across major cities in Afghanistan and holds approximately USD 790 million in deposits, representing about 20% of Afghanistan's deposit base. AIB has received multiple international recognitions, including being named The Banker magazine's "Bank of the Year, Afghanistan" for seven consecutive years from 2012 to 2018.
