Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (BNCR)

Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (BNCR) is the largest state-owned commercial bank in Costa Rica and the third largest bank in Central America by assets. As a financial conglomerate wholly owned by the government, BNCR plays a central role in the country's economic development. With over 170 branches across Costa Rica and more than 1,200 affiliated commercial establishments through BN Services, the bank serves as a key institution supporting both retail and commercial banking needs.

BNCR operates as a universal bank offering comprehensive financial services. The bank maintains a 49% participation in Banco Internacional de Costa Rica Limited (BICSA) in Panama and owns 100% of several subsidiaries including BN-Valores (securities brokerage), BN-Vital (pension fund operator), BN-SAFI (investment funds), and BN Corredora de Seguros (insurance brokerage).
