BancoEstado

BancoEstado (Banco del Estado de Chile) is Chile's only state-owned commercial bank and one of the largest financial institutions in Latin America. Founded in 1953, the bank provides comprehensive financial services to individuals and businesses with a particular focus on financial inclusion, national coverage, and support for the unbanked and small and medium enterprises. As of 2021, BancoEstado serves over 16 million customers, operates with approximately 15,489 employees, and manages total assets exceeding CLP 53.5 trillion.

The bank is the country's largest mortgage lender and largest issuer of debit cards. BancoEstado also performs all of the Chilean government's financial activities through accounts managed by the General Treasury of the Republic of Chile, making it a critical partner in implementing public policies.
