About SR-Boligkreditt in Norway
SR-Boligkreditt is a specialized Norwegian mortgage credit institution (boligkredittforetak) established under the Norwegian Covered Bonds Legislation. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge, one of Norway's largest banks.
The institution's sole purpose is to issue covered bonds backed by residential mortgages acquired from its parent bank. SR-Boligkreditt operates as a special purpose entity designed to provide funding for mortgage lending through the covered bond market.
