Midrand Savings and Credit Co-operative (Midrand SCCO) is a community-based co-operative financial institution serving the Midrand area in Gauteng province, South Africa. Founded in 2023, the co-operative is owned and democratically controlled by its members who live, work, study, worship, or operate businesses in Midrand.
As a member-owned institution, Midrand SCCO exists to serve its members rather than generate profits for external shareholders. The co-operative promotes financial inclusion and economic empowerment within the predominantly black Midrand community, which represents approximately 74% of the area's demographic composition.
