Al-Amal Microf­inance Bank

Al-Amal Microfinance Bank is the first specialized microfinance bank in Yemen and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Established as a non-dividend financial institution, the bank focuses on providing sustainable financial services to low-income families, particularly owners of small and micro enterprises. Al-Amal serves marginalized populations, especially Yemeni youth and women, who are often excluded from the formal banking sector.

The bank has become the largest microfinance institution in Yemen, capturing approximately 35-37% of the country's microfinance market share. Al-Amal is one of the most successful banks established by the Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organization (AGFUND).
