YIKRI

YIKRI is a social microfinance institution in Burkina Faso dedicated to serving entrepreneurs in situations of exclusion or extreme poverty. Created by the French organization Entrepreneurs du Monde, YIKRI provides tailored financial and social services to vulnerable micro-entrepreneurs, particularly women, internally displaced persons, rural smallholder farmers, and young people. The institution operates under a unique social microfinance model that combines microcredit, savings, training, and social support to help beneficiaries develop sustainable income-generating activities and improve their living conditions.

As of 2024, YIKRI serves over 30,000 beneficiaries, with 81% being women. The institution has demonstrated significant social impact, with beneficiaries seeing their net income increase by 140% and extreme poverty rates cut in half after an average of three years of support.
