About SPD Silicon Valley Bank in China
SPD Silicon Valley Bank was a specialized commercial bank in China focused on serving technology and innovation companies. Established as a Sino-US joint venture between Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and Silicon Valley Bank, it was China's first technology and innovation bank operating as an independent legal entity. The bank provided commercial banking services specifically designed for startups, entrepreneurs, and investors in China's innovation ecosystem.
As of 2024, following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank in March 2023, SPD Silicon Valley Bank has been renamed to Shanghai Innovation Bank Co. Ltd. and is now fully owned by Shanghai Pudong Development Bank.
