NWB Bank

NWB Bank (Nederlandse Waterschapsbank N.V.) is a Dutch promotional bank that specializes in financing the public sector in the Netherlands. It is the fifth-largest bank in the country by total assets, with approximately €78.8 billion as of 2024. The bank is wholly owned by Dutch public authorities: 81% by water boards, 17% by the Dutch government, and 2% by provinces.

NWB Bank focuses exclusively on providing financing to water authorities, municipalities, provincial governments, and government-backed institutions. These include social housing associations, healthcare institutions, educational facilities, drinking water companies, and renewable energy projects. The bank does not provide services to individual consumers or private companies.
