About Banco de Comércio e Indústria (BCI) in Angola
Banco de Comércio e Indústria (BCI) is a commercial bank in Angola providing financial services throughout the country. The bank operates from its headquarters in Luanda with branches and service points across Angola's provinces and major urban centers.
The bank was originally majority-owned by the Angolan government, which held approximately 99% of shares along with several state-owned enterprises as minority shareholders. In October 2021, as part of Angola's Programa de Privatizações (PROPIV - Privatization Program), BCI was privatized and is now controlled by Grupo Carrinho (also known as Grupo Leonor Carrinho), a prominent Angolan business group.
