About Banco Paris in Chile
Banco París was a Chilean retail bank owned by Cencosud, one of Latin America's largest retail conglomerates. The bank operated from 2004 to 2016, focusing primarily on consumer lending and financial services tied to Cencosud's retail operations. At its peak, Banco París served approximately 600,000 customers with consumer credit products, though it remained a relatively small player in Chile's banking sector with only 0.006% of total system loans by 2014.
The bank was created through a strategic alliance with Banco Santander Chile, acquiring the Santiago Express division, which provided Banco París with 60 offices nationwide and approximately 70,000 initial clients.
