Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) is an Islamic retail bank based in Manama, Bahrain. Established in 1979 as the first Islamic bank in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the fourth in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), BisB has played a pivotal role in the development of the Islamic banking industry both regionally and globally.
The bank operates under an Islamic Retail Bank license from the Central Bank of Bahrain and is publicly listed on the Bahrain Stock Exchange. As of recent reports, BisB operates with four branches, four innovative financial malls, one digital branch, and approximately 45-52 ATMs located throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In 2020, the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) acquired an additional 49.75% of shares in BisB, increasing its total shareholding to 78.81%, making NBB the parent company of BisB for financial reporting purposes.
