Banco Popular, operating as Popular, Inc. in corporate form, is the largest banking institution in Puerto Rico in terms of assets and deposits. The institution is a full-service financial services conglomerate that ranks among the largest bank and thrift holding companies in the United States. Known as "The People's Bank," Banco Popular has expanded beyond Puerto Rico to serve customers in the mainland United States and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.
