The initial ~2,000 banks across 91 countries were requested by Moon Banking's users and added manually, reflecting the demand for bank data.

MCP development
Development of the MCP server and supporting agentic infrastructure began in 2025, allowing for scalable bank data management internally. Bank coverage grew to 19,000+ banks.

Pro launch
Moon Banking Pro was launched in 2026, allowing for personal and commercial use of the Moon Banking API, SDKs, and MCP server.
