Originally founded in 1997 by physicians and initially serving exclusively healthcare professionals, the cooperative achieved a significant milestone in 2025 by becoming a free admission cooperative, expanding its capacity to serve individuals and businesses across diverse sectors.
As part of the Sicoob System (Sistema de Cooperativas de Crédito do Brasil), Sicoob Ouricred operates as a non-profit cooperative society, regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil and affiliated with Brazil's largest cooperative credit system.
