BCR (Banca Comercială Română S.A.) is Romania's most important financial institution and one of the country's largest universal banks, providing comprehensive banking services including retail, corporate and investment banking, treasury, capital markets, leasing, and private pensions. Headquartered in Bucharest, BCR ranks as the second-largest bank in Romania by assets with a 14.29% market share (142.72 billion RON in assets as of 2024) and serves millions of customers through 318 retail units, 20 business centers, 18 mobile offices, and nearly 2,000 ATMs and multifunctional devices nationwide. BCR is a subsidiary of Austria's Erste Group Bank, which acquired majority ownership in 2006.
