Handelsbanken's Finnish operations were closed as part of the bank's strategic exit from the Finnish market. On May 31, 2023, S-Bank announced the acquisition of Handelsbanken's Finnish private customer, asset management, and investment services operations. Private customer accounts were closed on March 31, 2025, and corporate customer accounts ceased on June 30, 2025. The online banking services were permanently shut down on August 10, 2025.
