About Banco Nacional in Brazil
Banco Nacional was a Brazilian multiple bank that operated in the country's financial sector from 1944 until 1995. Founded by Magalhães Pinto and Valdomiro de Magalhães Pinto in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, the bank grew to become a significant player in Brazil's banking industry. Banco Nacional is perhaps best remembered as the main sponsor of legendary Formula One driver Ayrton Senna throughout his racing career from 1984 to 1994. The bank also originally sponsored TV Globo's iconic news program Jornal Nacional, which continues to bear that name today.
