San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) is San Diego's largest locally-owned financial institution and one of the largest credit unions in the United States, ranking fifteenth by total assets. With approximately $9.3 billion in assets and over 413,000 members, SDCCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative wholly owned and operated by its members. Unlike traditional banks, SDCCU does not issue stock or pay dividends to outside stockholders; instead, earnings are returned to members through lower loan rates, higher dividends on deposits, and lower fees.
