About People's Bank of Zanzibar in Tanzania
People's Bank of Zanzibar (PBZ) is a commercial bank in Tanzania, wholly owned by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar. As one of the oldest financial institutions in Tanzania, PBZ serves retail customers, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and large corporate clients.
The bank operates 28 branches across Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania as of 2022. With approximately 501 employees as of December 2020, PBZ reported total assets of TSh 752.8 billion and net income of TSh 18.4 billion for the same period.
