Cooperativa San Joaquín

Cooperativa San Joaquín is an open savings and credit cooperative (Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Abierta) operating in Bolivia. As an "abierta" (open) cooperative, it is authorized to provide financial intermediation services to both members and the general public. The institution operates under the supervision of the Autoridad de Supervisión del Sistema Financiero (ASFI), Bolivia's financial regulatory authority.

The cooperative is part of Bolivia's cooperative financial sector, which emerged as a response to financial exclusion and offers a member-owned, democratic alternative to traditional banking. Unlike for-profit banks, cooperatives operate on the principle of "one member, one vote" and reinvest benefits into improving services and supporting member communities.
