About Banque pour le Commerce et l'Industrie Mer Rouge in Djibouti

Banque pour le Commerce et l'Industrie Mer Rouge (BCIMR) is the largest commercial bank in Djibouti and the Horn of Africa, holding approximately 45% of the domestic banking market share. It is a universal bank serving individuals, businesses, public sector entities, and institutional clients. BCIMR is a subsidiary of the French banking group BRED Banque Populaire, which owns 51% of the bank.

The Government of Djibouti holds a 33% stake, and a Yemeni banking partner owns the remaining 16%, making BCIMR a strategically important financial institution with both international backing and national significance.
