Coop Bank Tanzania (officially CO-OPERATIVE BANK TANZANIA PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANY) is a modern cooperative bank established to serve Tanzania's cooperative movement, agricultural sector, and underserved communities. The bank is unique in that it is 51% owned by cooperative unions, including savings and credit cooperative societies (SACCOS) and agricultural marketing cooperative societies (AMCOS), with the remaining 49% held by other stakeholders. With starting capital of TZS 55 billion, Coop Bank Tanzania focuses on financial inclusion, particularly for cooperatives, entrepreneurs, rural farmers, and the unbanked population.
