As of September 2025, DTB Burundi transitioned to majority local ownership following the sale of Diamond Trust Bank Kenya's 83.67% stake to a consortium of primarily Burundian investors, including the bank's existing minority shareholder. This transaction marked a strategic realignment by DTB Group to focus on its core markets of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
